Sea Turtles

The turtles are created of various sculptural materials and painted with acrylics or oils. The shells are rounded, reflective, irridescent multiple layers of color. My passion is to try to raise awareness through my art about this beautiful endangered species. They can live to be more than a hundred years old, however they face many obstacles. Boats, nets, fishing lines, pollution, coral destruction, tumors and illegal hunting all threaten their survival.Researchers estimate that only about 1% of the thousands of hatchlings ever grow to adulthood.

Dimensional Landscapes

When creating a landscape, I use many layers to show the depth and distance. I continually develop new techniques and materials to attain the three dimensional quality. The lighting makes a huge difference in viewing the finished piece as the highlights and cast shadows give the impression of actually being in the landscape.
